This year, America turns 250 and Lilly turns 150. These two anniversaries landing together matters, because for us, Lilly's story and America's story are deeply intertwined.

When I think about freedom, I think about the possibility to live a healthier life and to pursue the science that makes that possible, to work on things that really matter for as long as it takes.

At Lilly, that's not abstract. It's what's guided our work for generations, taking on difficult problems, investing for the long term, and staying focused on the people we serve.

None of that happens on its own. It depends on free enterprise, the rule of law, and a belief that science is worth investing in. America made that possible for our company, and Lilly has tried to honor that every day.
